Audio Legends

Sometimes fortune offers up incredible opportunities and yesterday we were lucky enough to introduce two of the audio world's greats, then spend a quite extraordinary afternoon in their company.

Louis Manno is director of New York's Audio Video Library and is visiting Europe to attend the 140th AES Convention in Paris. On is way to Paris he stopped to visit us and our workshop in Hastings. This gave rise to the rare opportunity to bring him together with esteemed British audio legend John Howes who, amongst many other things also curates his own Voigt and Lowther museum, an astonishing tribute to these industry pioneers.

We shared a meal with John and Louis before spending an absolutely fascinating afternoon at John's museum, culminating in a listening session with two of his vintage Voigt 4 foot horn loudspeakers - set up as a stereo pair! Needless to say the sound was exceptional in every regard, as were the accompanying delicious cookies, home made by his wife, Brenda.

We would like to extend our most grateful thanks to John Howes for his kind hospitality and the generosity of his time.

It was a privilege and an honour to spend time in the company of these two audio legends and a day we will never forget.
